Recovering hard disk data is more complex than it seems. There are different types of failures that give rise to a specific method of restoring access to data: Logic Failure, Mechanical Failure and Electronic Failure.

It is therefore necessary to make a pre-diagnosis before any operation:

       1- What causes the problem: shock, surge, dropped in water, formatted disc ...
       2- What are the symptoms: No more starts, beeps, no longer recognized ...
       3- Is the hard drive part of a set of RAID drives?
       4- What do you want to recover on the hard drive? only some files? make a total disk image?

Based on this information, we will be able to know whether to change components on the disk to be able to read it or if it is possible to do so without disassembly.

Data recovery can be done by changing the disk card, changing the read heads, or reinstalling the disk firmware. A change of component can only be done with the same references as the components already present on your disk: this is the reason why the delay can vary according to the time of supply of the spare parts.

CAUTION: As soon as the first symptoms of a fault occur, we advise you to shut down the hard disk and not to feed it any more, as this could further damage the disk and make it impossible to recover data.
Do not open the disc: the opening of a disc is only done in a clean room atmosphere so as not to pollute the trays that contain the data. We are equipped with a clean room with laminar flow hood to avoid this contamination which could make the recovery incomplete or impossible.

For example, for an individual, if the failure results from an accident committed by a third party, his civil liability can support the recovery of data. In the event of a disaster such as a flood, fire or electrical damage, ask your insurer to find out if your contract provides coverage.
